Our aim is “To enrich the physical, psychological and social well-being of disadvantaged children and pregnant women in Heywood, in order that the children may achieve more of their full potential as adult citizens.”
We aim to combat growing problems of poverty, malnutrition and illness in our town and give children a chance in life, regardless of their home backgrounds.
The idea of Little Monkeys was the brainchild of professionals already working in Heywood with
young people. The charity was established in 1999 and the Trustees included a Heywood GP, a
practice manager, a health visitor and a local
councillor.
Little Monkeys is a non-political and non-profit making organisation that has the full
backing of all religious denominations in the town.
The Charity is managed by a voluntary board of Trustees drawn from various sectors of the community
and run and staffed entirely by volunteers.
As all the time of our team is given voluntarily we
are able to operate with very low overheads,
so the vast majority of funds raised are used in the continuation of the charity’s work.
Change Their World. Change Yours. This changes everything.
